Organising a peaceful demonstration: the checklist
A successful gathering is prepared. This list replaces no official procedure, but it helps you forget nothing. It applies to any country; legal points refer to local rules.

1. Clarify what you are asking for
Write one main demand and, if needed, secondary demands and exclusions (what you are not asking for). A clear message brings people together and avoids misunderstandings. On ARALLIA this text is versioned: any change remains visible and verifiable.
2. Know the local rules
Check who must be informed, within what deadlines, and whether notification or authorisation is required. For France, see the article on notification; for other countries, see the legal sheets and their official sources.
3. Notify within the deadlines
File the notification in the right place, with accurate information. Keep the receipt. If the route or the time changes after notification, inform the authority.
4. Plan stewarding and safety
Appoint volunteer stewards, identifiable, who know the route and stay non-violent. Plan first-aiders, water points and a contact person to talk to the authorities.
5. Make the event accessible
Choose a route that can be used in a wheelchair or with a pushchair, plan seating areas, state the duration, and say which languages are used. Accessibility is part of the information to publish.
6. Communicate precisely
Announce the place, time, route, demand and non-violence guidelines. If something changes, correct it publicly. On ARALLIA the official feed allows a visible clarification, distinct from discussions.
7. On the day
Welcome people, repeat the guidelines, stay in contact with the stewards and first-aiders. Plan a clear end (orderly dispersal) and leave no litter.
8. Review
Thank those who helped, note what worked and what must change, and publish an honest review. An open debrief builds trust for the next time.
